Every get the hankering for "cook it yourself" Korean BBQ?  Well I do, and I did something about it!  After spending a couple of years in South Korea, this is one of my favorite dinners, and Royal Garden Korean really scratched the itch for me!
Don't let the outside fool you, this place is 100% legit! We made reservations for 4 for a BBQ table, and were warmly welcomed and sat down. We ordered the fried Mandu and a seafood pancake for appetizers, some kimchi soup and beef brisket and bulgogi for the BBQ.  They have soju and Coors Light...no other beers, but hey, it still works!!
The Mandu were perfectly crispy and super tasty, just like I remember from the street carts in Korea. The pancake was served with a super tasty and flavorful dipping sauce. Couldn't put it in my mouth any faster!  The kimchi soup was served in a stone pot and was amazing....and hot!  The server brought out pre-lit charcoal and put it in the cooking recess in the table and then brought out the japchae. Kimchi, spinach, a sweet potato salad, fermented bean sprouts, fish cakes, white rice, a bunch of crisp lettuce leafs and doenjang. And off we went! We cooked and ate and cooked and ate and cooked and ate!  Absolutely fabulous!  If you want a great dinner and a fun time with friends and family, swing by Royal Garden Korean!  You will love it!!

My last review was 5 years ago. So time to update!

I hadn't been here in quite a while.

The place looks remodeled. I like the new look.

The menu is cleaned up a bit. The prices did go up a fair bit but still worth it for the food that you get.

Today I had brisket in spicy broth soup. I forget what it is called in korean now. Jjige *sp* is soup. Anyway. It blew me away. So flavorful. It was amazing! I do not like glass noodles but there was much more other things in there than the bit of glass noodles. I ate it all. I cannot wait to have it again.

The place was very quiet. It typically was. This is off the main road so they only get traffic from people who either know it is there or seek out this type of a place specifically.

The service was fast and kind. The lady was very nice.

One thing I didn't care for was disposable wooden chopsticks. Everything else was reusable. Metal spoon, stone pot, all the side dishes where washable.... why wooden throw away chopsticks? I am not a fan of those. They frequently have splinters in them. I hope they go to reusable washable sticks.

    [Important informations]
So..I've noticed that the food taste different. All the food came out pretty poorly during my  last visit. (We ordered 4 different menu)
IT WASN'T GOOD ANYMORE!! I had to ask what happened and they said the chef is gone so the owner is cooking for now.
Sorry to say this but I'm not coming back for this food....bye!
